Overview

Iikura Kumano Shrine (飯倉熊野神社, Iikura Kumano Jinja), affectionately called Iikura no Kumano-san (飯倉の熊野さん), is a Shinto shrine located in Azabudai, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It enshrines the Kumano Sanshin (熊野三神 — the three Kumano deities) and is the designated Ebisu (恵比寿) shrine on the Minato Shichifukujin (港七福神) New Year pilgrimage — one of Tokyo’s most popular lucky gods walking circuits, drawing thousands of visitors each January.

Enshrined Kami & Blessings

The three Kumano deities are enshrined together:

  • 家都美御子大神 (Ketsu-Mimiko-no-Ōkami) — purification, healing, safe travel
  • 速玉大神 (Hayatama-no-Ōkami) — warding off misfortune, contracts, marriage
  • 夫須美大神 (Fusumi-no-Ōkami) — creation, cultivation, abundant harvest

As the Minato Shichifukujin Ebisu shrine, it additionally blesses visitors with 商売繁盛 (business prosperity) and 大漁満足 (bountiful fortune) — the graces of Ebisu, god of fishermen and commerce.

Minato Shichifukujin Pilgrimage

The Minato Shichifukujin (港七福神) is a New Year’s walking pilgrimage visiting seven shrines and temples across Minato-ku. Iikura Kumano Shrine is the Ebisu stop. The full circuit can be completed on foot and is typically done between 1–7 January. A dedicated shichifukujin goshuin stamp is available at the shrine office during the New Year period.
